On February 12, 1972, Anita married Alvin White in Watkins Glen, NY. cherished father, Harry Smith, and much-loved father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lee and Louise Radcliffe. She was a lifelong supporter of the 4-H program and for many years was a 4-H girls club leader, passing on her values and her knowledge of cooking, baking, gardening, and food preservation. She joined a diet support group called TOPS and was their Queen in 1998 by losing 70 pounds. Laura was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Larry Kent, and her friend, Gilbert LaRoux. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Schuyler County. predeceased, Marcella Brown of Athens, PA and Barbara Muffley of Athens, PA. She had one brother, Raymond Russell, predeceased; several nieces and nephews, Raymond Turnipseed, Richard Turnipseed, Celestia Young, Roger Brown predeceased, Duncan (GiGi) Brown, Michael (Faboola) Brown, Eva Bob, Billy (Mary) Muffley, and Barbara predeceased (Robert) Denno; six grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren. She graduated from Southside High School in 1976. He was a member of the Oxford Fire Department and Oxford United Methodist Church. Joan was preceded in death by her first husband, Henry Valent of Watkins Glen; her second husband, John Schwei of Carlsbad, CA; and her sister and brother-in-law, Bernita and Jim Whiting, formerly of Watkins Glen. Joan Blanchard Valent Schwei. She had a true gift with all creatures. Retiring at 79,her coworkers had become her second family and remained in close contact.
